Carnivorous Plants

Pesky little flies beware! We are now carrying carnivorous plants. These plants derive most of their nutrients from feeding on insects. Venus Fly Traps are able to do this by the act of snapping their traps shut on their prey; this is called rapid leaf movement. Other carnivorous plants use a fly-paper technique by producing a sticky substance or a pitfall technique where its prey gets lured into a rolled leaf that contains a pool of digestive enzymes. To some, the thought of these alienesque plants might seem a tad morbid, but it just might beat chasing flying insects around the house with a flyswatter.

Carnivorous plants require bright indirect light, high humidity and need to be watered with distilled water or rain water. The packaging is made to double as a terrarium. No need to fertilize, these plants feed themselves. These plants are educational and fun at home or in the classroom.

Three varieties available, while supplies last.

Trapper Venus Fly Trap
Swamp Monster Pitcher Plant
Mr. Tentacles Octopus Plant
